After tying the airplane down, I glanced at my surroundings. A few airplanes were parked in old wooden hangars that were open on one side and badly in need of fresh paint.

I walked over to the little building that houses “Daggett Aviation”. I was curious about the airport’s history, and the proprietor was more than happy to fill me in.

It seems that during World War Two, the airport was an Army air field and served as a training base for a squadron of Douglas A-20 Havoc attack bombers. Well, times have changed, and the U.S. Army Air Forces became the United States Air Force in 1948.
